The activities of the Branch of the Association are aimed at promoting the level of professional competence of obstetricians and gynecologists of Odessa region, creating an information system and social and legal protection of obstetricians and gynecologists, members of the Association. AASU was established and registered as a regional branch of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ukraine by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on September 23, 1998.

The main purpose of the Association is to promote scientific, theoretical and practical solutions to modern health problems of women, mothers, children and families, continuous professional development and training and protection of common interests of members of the Association.

THE MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION ARE:

1) promoting the development of priority areas for the development of the health care system for women, mothers, children and families, determining the general policy on these issues in cooperation with public health authorities
2) promoting the development of new approaches to the system of training of obstetricians and gynecologists, their postgraduate training in order to increase their professional competence
3) assistance in raising and controlling the level of knowledge and qualifications of obstetricians and gynecologists of Ukraine - members of the Association
4) study and implementation of modern scientific achievements in the field of obstetrics and gynecology; expanding contacts and exchanging experiences with professional associations of other countries, whose activities are aimed at protecting the health of families, women, mothers and children
5) promoting the level of sanitary culture of the population on women's health, strengthening reproductive health, sex education and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS
6) promotion of a personalized approach and preventive direction in the protection of women's and children's health, reduction of maternal and child morbidity and mortality

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION

Membership in the branch of the association, the rights and responsibilities of its members

Membership in the Branch of the Association is individual.
Membership in other organizations does not deny membership in the Association.
Admission to the branches of the Association is carried out by the Presidium of the Association or the Executive Committee at the personal request of citizens.
Members of the Association may be citizens of Ukraine and other countries who have reached 18 years of age, have a relevant higher or secondary special medical education and share the goals and objectives of the Association.
The document certifying membership in the Branch of the Association is a membership card, according to the established pattern.

IN ORDER TO PERFORM THE STATUTORY TASKS OF THE AAG IN THE PROCEDURE ESTABLISHED BY THE CURRENT LEGISLATION:

advises members of the Association on the conduct and implementation of scientific and practical research in obstetrics and gynecology, participates in the organization of peer-review, preparation for publication and defense of research results and research papers;
organizes and conducts competitions, awards and other forms of encouragement of authors of the best works and activists of the Association;
organizes in accordance with current legislation specialized exhibitions and auctions, publishes special advertising literature related to the activities of the Branch of the Association;
attracts voluntary donations of Ukrainian and foreign citizens and organizations in the form of money, works of literature and art, material values, real estate, etc. with the help of extensive explanatory work.
concludes agreements with organizations and institutions;
participates in public examination, clinical trials of new drugs, medical equipment, treatment methods used in obstetrics and gynecology;
organizes and participates in scientific and practical conferences, symposiums and other events in Ukraine and abroad;
carries out business contacts in Ukraine and with foreign organizations and companies, with their representatives, etc., on issues within the competence of the Branch of the Association;
concludes various agreements both in Ukraine and abroad, including foreign economic ones, with Ukrainian, foreign and CIS organizations and firms on the activities of the Association's Branch, engages in foreign economic activity in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine;
may carry out the necessary business activities by creating legal entities (companies, enterprises) in the manner prescribed by law;
nominates candidates from among the members of the Department of the Association and the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Ukraine for the award of honorary titles and awards of Ukraine, carries out other activities that meet the statutory objectives and do not contradict current legislation.
